Carp Center: Successful data migration and system integration for future-proof trading
Client: Carp Center
Standort: AustriaChallenge
The biggest challenge for Carp Center was the clean integration of all existing product data, images and customer data from an outdated, not updated database into a new system. The old database was stored on a computer that was no longer supported and exporting data was initially impossible due to the confusing structure of the products and the irregular configurations. In addition, the transition to a new merchandise management system was problematic because exporting and importing data was extremely complex due to the outdated software and different product configurations. Numerous specialized IT companies and agencies had already failed in this first step. The data had to be cleaned up in order to create the basis for the redevelopment of the online store and the introduction of a new POS system.
Idee
FYNEST developed a tailor-made solution that made it possible to extract all product and customer data from the outdated database and import it into the new inventory management system. This required multiple individual system designs and detailed planning to unify the different data formats and product configurations. After the data export was successfully carried out, the new online store system including point-of-sale (POS) cash register system and merchandise management was implemented. The entire process was carried out with the highest precision and taking technical requirements into account to ensure a smoothly functioning system landscape.
inspiration
The inspiration for this project came from the idea of replacing old structures with a modern and functional solution. The challenge of successfully implementing data migration inspired the team to develop innovative solutions that made it possible to clean up the existing data and prepare it for the future viability of the company. The new online store system and the POS system have not only been optimized from a technical perspective, but also designed to be user-friendly in order to simplify the purchasing process and improve customer experiences.
